School programs are great at getting everyone playing together in a group right away, but they generally fall short at providing fundamental skills. Students come to us with bad habits and major holes in their foundation. Our approach is to work in small steps and fill in those gaps! We balance the lessons between our curriculum and helping with their band music! Before you know it, your child will play with confidence and be leader in their section! 

Yay! Flute is such a fun instrument to learn! No prior experience needed, we will teach you everything you need to know. Our teachers are warm, kind, bubbly, supportive, and are experts at making learning fun! 

Individual instruction is crucial for advanced students preparing for auditions. Personalized, expert feedback allows students to fix specific technical issues and refine their artistry. We can help with everything from repertoire selection to preparation and managing performance anxiety.

No worries! It is perfectly fine to do your trial lesson before purchasing a flute. There is plenty to learn before you actually have the instrument in your hands!

If you already have a flute, please bring that to your trial lesson. If you do not yet have a flute, please hold off on purchasing anything. We are happy to help and can recommend specific brands & models.

If your child is younger than 10 years old, the full size flute is usually too long, so a flute with a curved headjoint is needed. This shortens the reach and makes it possible for young children to play comfortably. We will be able to tell you during your trial lesson if we think the student would benefit from a curved headjoint flute.

A few brands we love for student level flutes are Jupiter, Yamaha, Trevor James, Di Zhao, and Gemeinhardt. Nuvo flutes are excellent for young children and for families on a budget.

Be aware of cheap knock-off brand flutes on Amazon. These scam flutes have horrible tone and the keys break after just a month or two. (We know from personal experience) This is extremely frustrating for the student and completely stunts their progress.
