Who We Are

Tutti Flutes is on an online music school that’s redefining music education for children.

We specialize in flute and are experts at teaching beginners as young as 4 years old all the way up to advanced high school students.

Since our program is entirely virtual, you can join us from anywhere!

Online Flute Program Includes

Meet Our Teachers

  • No. We are experts at teaching the flute!

  • No. We specialize in teaching children as young as age 4 through high school.

  • Often it is the relationship with the teacher and the experience of the lessons are that are more important for the child than the specific instrument. We prioritize building great relationships with families and creating the optimal learning experience for each student. We are focused on making lessons engaging, fun, and have realistic expectations for each age group. And a great foundation in music is transferable to any instrument!

  • If you already have a flute, please bring that to your trial lesson. If you do not yet have a flute, please hold off on purchasing anything. We are happy to help and can recommend specific brands & models.

    If your child is younger than 10 years old, the full size flute is usually too long, so a flute with a curved headjoint is needed. This shortens the reach and makes it possible for young children to play comfortably. We will be able to tell you during your trial lesson if we think the student would benefit from a curved headjoint flute.

    A few brands we love for student level flutes are Jupiter, Yamaha, Trevor James, Di Zhao, and Gemeinhardt. Nuvo flutes are excellent for young children and for families on a budget.

    Be aware of cheap knock-off brand flutes on Amazon. These scam flutes have horrible tone and the keys break after just a month or two. (We know from personal experience) This is extremely frustrating for the student and completely stunts their progress.

  • Practicing outside of lesson time is essential for making progress on the instrument. We want you to be successful and will help you to develop a good practice routine!

    We generally recommend that beginners start off with 10-15 minutes a couple days a week and work their way up.

    Students make a practice list at the end of every lesson with their teacher and we have countless resources available to help families make practice fun and enjoyable throughout the week!
